What does a safe school look like to you?
Peace of Mind
My picture depicts the importance of having a school that encourages
their students to follow their desired pathways and excel in
whatever they decide to do. It emphasizes the importance of creating
a space that allows students to grow independently so they can learn
to make their own future.

Merry Go Round
A safe school should be almost like the warm feeling of comfort
offering reassurance and security to all its occupants. Think of it
like a merry-go-round. While younger children want the excitement of
bigger rides, they're gently guided toward safety. Parents trust
that within this environment, their children are nurtured and
protected, allowing them to explore and grow without fear. Just what
a safe school should feel like.

Thank You Queen City
Every school can be good or bad. To make your school safe it's going
to take a community effort. My teachers, staff, students, and my
family make my school a safe environment. When I hear what makes
your school safe, I think that there's no coming and going out of the
school. When we do have altercations, the teacher makes sure it is
over before it even starts. I have never felt more at home or safe
until I came to Queen City. I want to thank QC for making my last
year the best year of high school.

Clean Up
A safe school to me means that whenever an issue occurs, it is
handled very quickly and safely. For example, when there is a spill
or a mess, our school rushes to clean it up and caution people when
walking by.

Truly Safe
A safe school can be many different things, but one of the main
things that not many people think about is the problems that kids
have mentally. Many kids suffer from mental health problems and that
is why there is a need for a counselor. But it cannot be any kind,
it needs to be someone trusted and caring who can help kids in
different ways to keep their minds safe and secure.

See Clear
This photo displays a safe school by requiring students to wear
clear bags. Clear bags allow teachers and staff to quickly see if
there are any unsafe or dangerous items and to prevent harm on the
school grounds.

Ready in a Flash
This photo makes me feel safe because it shows the officers by our
school. The officers in this photo make me feel safe because of the
amazing equipment that they carry and the work they put in for us
every single day. The car in this photo represents protection for
them in a car chase and getting to a problem in time so the problem
doesn't get worse. It also makes me feel safe because when I show up
to school every day and I see an officer, I feel safer.

No Entry
A safe school to me is where you have no doubt that the security and officers will be there to protect you at all times. You should never be scared to go to school. If you are, then your school is not a safe place. Bolo sticks for example ensure that bad people can't get to you in case of a lockdown. These are one of the many examples of what a safe school looks like.

Always Here. Always Protecting
A safe school to me is a protected one. I like having these police
officers around the school, because when they are around, I feel
safe. A safe school is one that is protected at all costs. To me,
the word "safe," means being without worry, and that's how I feel
around these officers.
