Virtual Summits
The Youth School Safety Program hosts virtual summits during each school year for students in 6-12 grade. Summits are led by the Texas School Safety Teen Ambassadors who collaborate with staff to develop engaging educational content on a variety of school safety related topics like teen mental health, substance use prevention, and violence prevention.
Each summit also provides access to a variety of advocacy activities that youth can complete as a student group or on their own with their classmates and friends.
Upcoming Summits
2025 Red Ribbon Week Virtual Summit
Wednesday, October 29, 10am - 11am CT

Join us for this year's Red Ribbon Week Virtual Summit where the Texas School Safety Teen Ambassadors bust some of the biggest myths about vaping. From “I'm not addicted” to “Everyone vapes,” the ambassadors will put these claims to the test with real evidence and reveal the truth about vaping nicotine or THC, the health risks, and industry marketing. You'll discover why vaping is harmful and addictive, learn positive ways to manage stress, how to lead educational activities at your school, and how to access free resources to help a friend quit.
Summit Information
Registration is free! Participating in the virtual summit is as easy as logging into Zoom from anywhere and on any device.
Youth participants will be asked to complete a pre- and post-assessment through an electronic device or a survey. All participants will receive access to print a certificate of attendance upon completion of a summit evaluation.
Host a Watch Party!
Encourage everyone in your school and community to join the premiere by hosting a watch party. If you're in the school setting, host a watch party in every Home Room, Health, Elective, P.E., or any class period during the premiere. If you're in the community setting, host a watch party after school with the recording.
If you can't attend the premiere or are planning on hosting a watch party after school, register anyway to receive access to the recording.
