Youth School Safety Program

At the heart of every school is a commitment to safety, a strong sense of community, and empowering student voice. Each year during the spring, the Texas School Safety Center invites students in 6th-12th grade to share their voices, ideas, and creativity in promoting a safe and healthy school environment through the Youth School Safety Contest.

Whether it's through art, photography, writing, video, or innovation, this contest challenges young minds to think critically about school safety issues and to become advocates for sharing their views on how youth can help build positive school communities.

Next year's Youth School Safety Contest will be announced January 2026; however, we invite you to explore the online exhibits of our previous contests, which feature the winning submissions.
