Art in Action

This gallery is a result of youth work and was supported by the Youth and Community Initiatives Division at the Texas School Safety Center. During the spring of the 2024-2025 school year, the Texas School Safety Center facilitated an art contest.

Students in 6th-12th grade were invited to submit photos of original artwork to share their experiences and opinions about school safety. Types of artwork that were accepted for the contest included digital art, paintings, watercolors, sketches/drawings, mixed media, sculptures, and photography. The contest included three prompts that students could create and submit artwork for.

Over 250 submissions were received for this contest. This gallery features the winning entries and honorable mentions.
