4.0 The District as a Resource Provider

Just as school districts may experience emergency events that require resources beyond their assets on hand, school districts have resources that may be needed by others. The American Red Cross may need a location to use as an emergency shelter during a severe flooding event. During a pandemic or the intentional release of a toxic chemical agent, the local health department will need neighborhood locations to serve as distribution sites for medication. When parts of a city may be separated from each other by flood waters, law enforcement will need locations for satellite substations and EMS will need to strategically stage staff, units, and equipment.
