Meet with the appropriate district or agency representative to discuss resource needs. Agencies and districts are often more than willing to help. Many of them are also charged with assisting or supporting planning efforts or may need assistance themselves. They recognize the value of advance planning. Secure a commitment from the district or agency. If the party cannot assist you, they may be a good source of information on other potential sources. Once there is a commitment, discuss the basic components of an agreement – purpose, roles, responsibilities, supervision, and duration.
