School Behavioral Threat Assessment Series

School Behavioral Threat Assessment (SBTA) provides a proactive, evidence-based approach for identifying students who may pose a threat and providing interventions before a violent incident occurs. Texas Education Code 37.115 mandates Texas public school districts and open-enrollment charter schools to establish a threat assessment team to serve at each campus, and each team is required to complete the state-mandated training provided by the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) or a Regional Education Service Center.

The SBTA Series includes the state-mandated training for SBTA team members plus optional trainings and sessions to assist districts and team members in implementing SBTA programs.
