TCOLE #41504 SBLE Advanced Training
The TCOLE #41504 SBLE Advanced Training is provided by the Texas School Safety Center and is accredited by TCOLE. Participants will receive 32 hours TCOLE credit upon completion of this training. This training will equip the participant in the Advanced SBLE training with expanded knowledge and skills in the area of school-based law enforcement while providing the most updated advanced information and its practical application in the educational environment. This training will assist the SBLE officer to effectively serve schools while creating a safe and healthy environment where all students and staff can thrive.
This training will cover a multitude of topics related to the area of School-Based Law Enforcement delivered over 4 days, including:
- SBLE's Role in Assessing Campus Climate and Culture: Beyond the Uniform and Badge
- K9 Sniffs and School Searches
- Protective Intelligence: The History of Mass Violence and Terror Since the 1960's
- Magnus Ovea Leadership for Enhanced Leadership Capacity, Resiliency, and Well-Being
- The Guardian Plan/Texas School Marshal Program
- Excited Delirium, Drugs, and Death
- Case Study of the Santa Fe High School Incident
PLEASE NOTE: The TCOLE #41501 Introductory Training AND TCOLE #41502 Intermediary Training must be completed prior to taking this training. This training is free. Participants are responsible for travel/meal expenses. TxSSC will not have hotel blocks for this training.
This training is open to public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state agencies that support Texas schools. Due to limited space, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register for this training.
You must attend the entire training to be eligible to receive 32 hours TCOLE credit. If a portion of the class is missed, the entire training must be made up at a later date. Please email txssc_sbleinfo@txstate.edu if you would like to reschedule.
