TCOLE #41502 SBLE Intermediary Training
The TCOLE #41502 SBLE Intermediary Training is provided by the Texas School Safety Center and is accredited by TCOLE. Participants will receive 32 hours TCOLE credit upon completion of this training. This training was developed to equip school-based law enforcement officers with expanded knowledge and skills needed to be successful working in concert with school and community partners and explore new and different topics relevant to the work of a SBLE officer to prevent problems, create safe environments, and divert youth from the juvenile justice involvement.
This training will cover a multitude of topics related to the area of school-based law enforcement, delivered over 4 days, that include topics such as:
- SBLE: Officers Roles and Responsibilities Overview
- Legal Overview for SBLE Officers
- Texas Council on Family Violence; Policies and Strategies on Prevention
- Legalities When Responding to Disruptive Students in Crisis
- Understanding Challenging Behavior and Promoting Positive Results
- Identifying Potentially Dangerous Persons in our Schools
- The Standard Response Protocol
- Online Predators
- Gang Investigations Overview and Updates
- FERPA for SBLE Officers
- Dealing with School Threats
- Emergency Operation Plans
PLEASE NOTE: Completion of TCOLE #41501 SBLE Introductory is prerequisite for the TCOLE #41502 SBLE Intermediary Training.
TCOLE #4064 does not meet the pre-requisite requirement.
You must attend the entire training to be eligible to receive 32 hours TCOLE credit. If a portion of the class is missed, the entire training must be made up at a later date. Please email txssc_sbleinfo@txstate.edu if you would like to reschedule.

PLEASE NOTE: This training is free. Participants are responsible for travel/meal expenses. TxSSC will not have hotel blocks for this training.
