The Texas School Safety Center created the fictitious PISD to provide clear, practical examples of how a district might complete the School Safety and Security Audit. This ensures the audit process can be illustrated effectively while avoiding the use of actual district data.

The 2024 Emergency Response Guidebook provides school districts with a practical reference to support hazard analysis of chemicals located on or near campus. It also aids in identifying roadway and railway chemical hazards that could pose risks in the event of a spill.

IPAWS is FEMA's national system for local alerting that provides authenticated emergency and life-saving information to the public through Wireless Emergency Alerts, Emergency Alert System, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Weather Radio.
Open Meetings Act Training
Members of a governmental body subject to the Open Meetings Act (OMA) are required to participate in education training sessions pursuant to section 551.005 of the Texas Government Code. The training requirement applies to all elected or appointed officials who participate in meetings subject to the OMA.
