    • This document outlines safety and security best practices developed to assist schools in ensuring student safety and the safety of all persons in portable buildings used for instruction.

  • Guidelines for Multi-hazard Emergency Operations
    • TEA has established guidelines, for districts to include in their EOPs, to ensure the safety and security of students and staff with disabilities or impairments. Per Texas Education Code, 37.1086(b), districts must follow these Guidelines for Multi-hazard Emergency Operations when adopting and implementing their EOP.

  • Coping with Disaster
    • Coping with Disaster (Ready.gov) provides a compilation of information on recognizing disaster stress in adults, positive actions that can ease disaster stress, recognizing risk factors, and helping children cope with an emergency incident or disaster.
  • Countering False Information on Social Media in Disasters and Emergencies (DHS)
    • A white paper that helps you understand not only the motivations some individuals have for sharing false information on social media during an incident, but also the best practices to use to counter this misinformation and rumors.
  • Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (SAMHSA)
    • The Crisis Counseling Assistance and Training Program (CCP) is a short-term disaster relief grant for states, U.S. territories, and federally recognized tribes. CCP grants are awarded after a presidential disaster declaration. CCP funding supports community-based outreach, counseling, and other mental health services to survivors of natural and human-caused disasters.
