Effective Date: September 1, 2023

Each public primary or secondary school shall post warning signs of the increased penalties for trafficking of persons under Penal Code 20A.02(b-1)(2) in a conspicuous place reasonable likely to be viewed by all school employees and visitors.

The agency, in consultation with the human trafficking prevention task force created under Government Code 402.035, shall adopt rules regarding the wording for the warning signs required under this section and requiring that each warning sign:

  • include a description of the provisions of Penal Code 20A.02(b-1), including the penalties for violating that section;
  • be written in English and Spanish; and
  • be at least 8-1/2 by 11 inches in size.
