Jeri Skrocki
Jeri Skrocki is the Head of District Safety & Security for the Hays Consolidated Independent School District.
She began her career with the Hays County Sheriff's Office in 1989 working in several capacities, including
managing the School Resource Officer (SRO) program for the school districts ...in the county that utilize full-time
sheriff's deputies for school safety. She is an architect of Hays County's standard emergency response
protocol
for schools and has been lauded by the Governor's office for her work in helping to coordinate a county-wide
standard response protocol in Hays County. She was also a member of the Governor's roundtable discussion team
that evaluated school safety solutions following the deadly mass shooting at Santa Fe High School. In addition
to serving as the supervisor of the Hays County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, Jeri is a
Master Peace Officer, a certified Mental Health Peace Officer, a certified expert in child abuse, and a Texas
Commission On Law Enforcement (TCOLE) instructor with a record of several hundred hours of teaching law
enforcement trainers.

Stephanie Peterson
Stephanie Peterson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Arts degree at St. Mary's
University in San Antonio, Texas. She brings almost 20 years of experience working with various populations
including children, adolescents..., adults, and families in a
variety of settings. Additionally, Ms. Peterson has developed curriculum, resources, and presentations on
topics related to children's mental health and best practices for school district staff, parents, students,
school-based law enforcement, first responders, military personnel, and clinicians. Ms. Peterson currently
serves as a Training and Education Specialist and the mental health subject matter expert at the Texas School
Safety Center.
