Sandy Hook Promise - Advanced Say Something Virtual Training
The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is partnering with Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) to bring Advanced Say Something, a no-cost, 2.5 hour workshop designed for educators, school safety personnel, and school-based mental health professionals who have already taken SHP’s Say Something Training. This advanced training will help participants working in grades K–12 schools explore new resources to help integrate SHP’s Say Something program into regular school activities and routines, examine the needs of their own school communities and create a plan to build a Say Something culture in their schools where Upstanders and Trusted Adults are continuously acknowledged and celebrated.
Participants will leave this workshop with the ability to:
- Create a Say Something program implementation plan using the Program Cycle.
- Expand on Say Something program key messages using engagement activities.
- Generate youth agency and leadership opportunities.
- Implement Say Something Prevent Suicide and Trusted Adult supplemental trainings to build on the core program.
Prerequisites: Registrants must first complete Say Something.
Please Note: This training is open to public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state agencies that support Texas schools. Due to limited space, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register for this training.
Not eligible for TCOLE training credit.
