Mitigating Educator Maltreatment Trainings
The Texas School Safety Center is hosting a no cost, 4-hour Mitigating Educator Maltreatment: Administrative Strategies for Prevention, Intervention, and Support Training.
This comprehensive training will equip administrators with the knowledge, skills, and tools to create and maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment for all staff and students. By delving into real-world scenarios and examining TxSSC developed exemplars, participants will explore effective prevention and intervention strategies to address educator maltreatment, which can be defined by incidents of verbal attacks, threats, harassment, and physical aggression. The training will also explore strategies for supporting educators who have experienced maltreatment and processes for returning students to the learning environment. Upon completion, administrators will be equipped to play a crucial role in safeguarding all stakeholders and fostering healthy, positive learning and working environments.
Training Objectives:
- Understand educator maltreatment and how it affects individuals, schools, and communities.
- Identify and use effective prevention strategies to reduce educator maltreatment.
- Create and execute comprehensive intervention plans to handle cases of educator maltreatment.
- Learn how to support educators who have experienced maltreatment and create a welcoming environment for returning students.
- Promote a culture of safety, respect, and empathy within the school community.
Please Note: This training is open to public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state agencies that support Texas schools. Due to limited space, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register for this training.
Not eligible for TCOLE training credit.

All virtual trainings will be provided through the Zoom online meeting platform.
