Restorative Practices for Educators
This 4-hour tabletop exercise is a collaborative opportunity to pressure test your district's current Cybersecurity Annex under the guidance of cybersecurity experts from the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). By the end of this exercise, you will gain insight into the strengths and areas of improvement of your Cybersecurity Annex, enabling you to make informed updates.
Who is this Event For?
This exercise is geared towards district staff responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and updating their district's Cybersecurity Annex. This includes:
- Superintendent
- IT Director
- Cybersecurity Coordinator (if not already assigned to one of the listed roles)
- Safety and Security Director
- Public Information Officer
- Contract and Procurement Director
- District Legal Counsel
- Other district staff who have been assigned or delegated by the superintendent to be responsible for the district's Cybersecurity Annex
- Partnering agencies that provide primary and supporting cybersecurity coordination through a contract or memo of understanding
We strongly urge you to bring as many staff and partners responsible for the Cybersecurity Annex with you as possible. Their participation will make this exercise more impactful and valuable for your district. Please do not register if you do not have a primary responsibility of developing, implementing, monitoring, or updating your district's Cybersecurity Annex.
What You Will Need to Bring
- Paper or digital copy of your district's Cybersecurity Annex
- District Vendor Management Plan (Procurement Plan) - policies, procedures, guidelines used to manage third-party contracts
- Emergency Communications Annex and/or District Communications Plan
NOTE: We will begin the exercise promptly at 8:30am, so please be mindful to arrive early enough to park and be ready to participate. We will have a hard stop at 12:30pm to honor your busy district schedule.
Please Note: This tabletop exercise is open to public ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, junior colleges, and state agencies that support Texas districts. Due to limited space, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register for this tabletop exercise.
A Certificate of Participation and TCOLE Credit will NOT be provided for this event
