The Policy Process

Policy is an excellent way for youth to impact the social norms and the environment in their communities.

According to the CDC Youth Engagement Guide, young people can be effective at garnering support for policy development and change. Youth capture the attention of political leaders and the media, making them important partners in policy advocacy. You might immediately think of laws and Congress, but local policies in schools, towns or cities can majorly improve the health of a community. Smoke-free cities or campuses are great examples!
