Awareness Phase

The goals of the Awareness Phase are to:

  1. Present facts and information to public
  2. Educate people in the community
  3. Attract people's attention
  4. Publicize the issue

Questions to ask while you're planning Awareness Activities are:

  • Who are you talking to?
  • What do they know?
  • What do they need to know?
  • How can you tell them?

Awareness Activities Include:

  • Giving a presentation
  • Handing out flyers at a health fair
  • Having a poster contest
  • Doing a survey
  • Setting up a display or exhibit

  • Who are we targeting with our Awareness Activity?
  • What does our Target Audience already know about the topic?
  • What do they need to know?
  • How are we going to give them that information?
  • What do we want them to do with the information?
  • How are we going to involve the media in our plan?
