Privacy Settings on Instagram
When a user posts a photo or video on Instagram, it is displayed on that person's profile either publicly or privately, depending on privacy settings. If the user has a public account, their posts and stories are able to be viewed by everyone. If they have a private account, their posts and stories are only able to be viewed by those who have requested to follow the user and whom the user has "accepted" or granted them permission to follow. The privacy level is simple to adjust in the user account settings.
