Junior College District Safety and Security Audit Webinar

Junior College Safety and Security Audits should be an ongoing process with the aim of identifying hazards, threats, and vulnerabilities that might pose a danger to life or property and/or may interfere with a safe, secure and healthy environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.

Districts are encouraged to integrate ongoing safety and security assessments into everyday activities. This includes planning, training, and drilling of emergency procedures.

As Junior College Districts continue to expand and develop their district’s safety and security audits, questions continuously arise regarding the requirements and reporting efforts associated with Texas Education Code (TEC) 37.108.

To support this effort, the Texas School Safety Center will be hosting two, no cost webinars. Join us for an informative discussion led by representatives of the Texas School Safety Center.

During the webinar, we will discuss:

  • The legislative requirements for Junior College District safety and security audits associated with TEC 37.108
  • The model safety and security audit procedures developed by the Texas School Safety Center
  • The process for reporting safety and security audit reports to the Texas School Safety Center
