COVID-19 Cancellation Notice

Texas is a large state and we are closely monitoring the status of COVID-19. Should an ESC or host decide to close we will notify our participants on the cancellation via the e-mail they used to sign-up for the training. UPDATE: With increased news reports about the growing number of cases nationally of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) we have decided to cancel all trainings effective immediately until May 1, 2020.

EOP Development Training

If there was an incident that affected your district, school or community college, would staff know what to do? Do they know their roles and responsibilities? Can they carry out their assigned duties during an emergency? Texas Education Code (TEC) 37.108 requires districts develop and implement a multi-hazard Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The district multi-hazard EOP provides a framework that outlines the district’s response to managing an incident. The EOP addresses prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

To support districts in developing a high-quality, multi-hazard EOP, the Texas School Safety Center will be hosting a series of no cost trainings to assist school districts, open-enrollment charter schools and community colleges through the development and evaluation of their EOP. Participants are encouraged to bring a copy of their current EOP to this training. New legislative requirements will be addressed.

This training is open to school districts, open-enrollment charter schools, community colleges, school-based law enforcement, and state or local agencies that support schools. Due to limited seating, vendors and contractors are not permitted to register or attend the training.

**Please note, a School Safety and Security Audit Training will take place the day after. If interested in attending, you must register separately for the training.
