The Texas Education Code (TEC) 37.108 requires districts develop and implement a multi-hazard Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). The district multi-hazard EOP provides a framework that outlines the district’s response to managing an incident. The EOP addresses prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
To support districts in developing a high-quality, multi-hazard EOP, the Texas School Safety Center is in the process of moving our live virtual training to an online training module that may be accessed at any time, to assist school districts, open-enrollment charter schools and community colleges through the development and evaluation of their EOP. New legislative requirements will be highlighted.
