Community Kits

The Community Prevention Program is pleased to provide tobacco prevention kits to assist schools, college campuses, and community-based organizations in their efforts to educate youth and adults about the dangers associated with using all commercialized tobacco and nicotine products.

These community kits are available for free to all communities across Texas but are prioritized for those populations most disproportionately affected by the tobacco industry and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Texans Trot Against Tobacco Fun Run Kit

The tobacco industry continues to glamorize the use of their commercialized products; however, they don't include the detrimental impact it has on one's brain and body. The Texans Trot Against Tobacco Fun Run kit emphasizes the importance of one's mental and physical well-being. In addition, this kit includes different tips that can assist you in navigating healthier choices that can lead to a healthier life.

Inside the kit, you will find all the necessary materials to host a fun run event! This provides both youth and adults the opportunity to reflect on their personal health, confidence, and mental well-being. Lastly, this kit is designed to increase awareness of the dangers and the toll of the negative impact tobacco and nicotine products can present on one's body. Activities Guidebook Kit

The Activities Guidebook Kit is centered around our very own easy-to-use Preventing Youth Tobacco Use Activities Guide. This handbook provides a variety of fun, interactive educational activities that address the importance of living tobacco, nicotine, and vape-free. In addition, there are numerous energizers and icebreakers to encourage student groups to get to know each other better.

Inside the kit, you will find a variety of printed resources to help successfully complete the activities featured in the guidebook. It's Okay to Ask for Help

Decades of research shows that youth and young adults face unique challenges and hardships, and since their brain develops until 25, feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression can be difficult to navigate. Research also shows a great number of youth and young adults cope with their emotions and hardships with unhealthy behaviors like using tobacco products or not seeking emotional support from a trusted person.

This kit is designed to increase awareness about the dangers of vaping as a coping strategy, the negative impact nicotine has a young person's brain and the ability to work through feelings of stress and depression, and to let every young person know that it's okay to ask for help.

The Not All Heroes Wear Capes Kit is designed to address and help eliminate the crisis of tobacco and nicotine addiction for those who have served our country. This kit includes a variety of cessation-focused materials, printed resources with mental health help lines, tobacco quit plans and direct lines to VA health care. This battle is not one to fight alone; our veterans fought for our freedom, let's help them fight for theirs.
